Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit recently announced new summer tour dates with a folk-rock singer-sonwriter Father John Misty.
Kicking off June 6 in San Diego, CA, this summer tour will be making its way coast to coast and into Canada with stops at a slew of music festivals along the road. The group will ignite festival stages at Ottawa Bluesfest, Mariposa Folk Festival, The Ride Festival, Moon River Festival and more. Such notable stops as Chicago,IL, Brooklyn, NY, Detroit, MI, Philadelphia, PA, and Houston, TX are each on the tour schedule. Select cities will feature special guests like Jade Bird and Erin Rae. The tour wraps up in a huge way with a night at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO, Sep 17.
Immensely talented, Isbell and his band are arguably the hottest thing going in alt-country with good reason. His body of work since leaving the Drive by Truckers in 2007 has earned him multiple Grammy awards, a stint as the youngest ever “Artist in Residence” at the Country Music Hall of Fame, and a fan base that crosses economic, social, and racial lines. His song “White Man’s World” is a throbbing dissertation on our nation’s continuing struggle with social injustice and racism.
Those who haven’t seen Isbell live can gear up for a show and catch a glimpse of his magic by listening to his latest release, “Live from the Ryman,” recorded over 6 consecutive shows at legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville in 2017. Fans old and new can hear Isbell nail song selections from his wildly popular albums Southeastern (2013), Something More Than Free (2015), and The Nashville Sound (2017).
